qmail is a modern SMTP server which makes sendmail obsolete, written by Dan Bernstein, who also has a web page for qmail. qmail is a secure package.

qmail是一个非常复杂的系统，而且由于类Unix系统变种复杂， 特别是大家经常使用的Linux 系统的不同厂商发布版本各具特色， 从而人为造成了qmail使用过程中的各种本不应该出现的问题。 个人认为：RedHat Linux比较适合作为Server运行，此处所有讨论内容一律运行于RedHat Linux。

• RPM qmail
qmail基本系统的RPM包，已经基本成熟。

qmail的增强虚拟域扩展包vpopmail，管理工具qmailadmin。正在计划打包成RPM格式。
